Trump ENDS IT For NFL Hours After Major Sponsor Pulls Out

Over the past few weeks, hundreds of NFL players have been taking a knee during the national anthem to protest against President Donald Trump and against racial inequality. Now, this has come back to bite the league in a huge way.

Yesterday, we reported that major NFL sponsor Papa John’s had pulled their advertising from the league amidst the anthem protests. Just when the NFL heads thought things couldn’t get any worse for them, it was revealed that Trump’s government is about to crack down on them as well.

Freedom Daily reported that Congress is taking steps to end their special tax breaks and subsidies for major sports leagues in its tax reform package. Most Americans don’t know that the NFL receives billions of dollars in tax-payer funded federal subsidies. Those huge stadiums that the entitled millionaire NFL players have been kneeling in were actually paid for with YOUR tax dollars!
“There’s $1.1 billion in direct subsidies from taxpayers to the NFL… Taxpayer subsidies go to the building of stadiums. There have been 20 new NFL stadiums since 1997. All of them have received a degree of taxpayer subsidies,” said Fox News host Stuart Varney. “According to FOX Sports over the last 20 years, the American public has spent more than $7 billion dollars to build or renovate NFL stadiums, taking on 46 percent of the total costs of those projects.”

Luckily, members of Congress are taking action to make sure that the NFL is cut off from American tax dollars.

Oklahoma Republican Rep. Steve Russell just presented a bill that would cut off the NFL from federal subsidies.

‘The federal government is responsible for a lot of important functions, but financing sports stadiums for multi-million – sometimes billion – dollar franchises is definitely not one of them,’ Rep. Russell said.

Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz just wrote an oped for The Daily Signal in which he explained that he has also drawn up a bill to cut the NFL off from receiving federal taxes. That way, taxpayers will no longer have to fund this anti-American nonsense.

“…the NHL, PGA Tour, and LPGA are also currently tax-exempt, despite earning over $2 billion per year in gross revenue,” Gaetz wrote, later adding, “That’s why I’ve decided to be the lead sponsor of H.R. 296, the PRO Sports Act, a bill that would end the tax-exempt status for sports leagues making over $10 million annually. I’ve sent a letter to Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, asking for this to be included in the tax overhaul. With tax reform currently one of the highest priorities of Congress, it’s time to end this unjustified, unjustifiable provision.”

If these NFL players are going to disrespect our country by kneeling during the anthem, they do NOT deserve our tax dollars!
