Kirsters Baish| President Trump announced to everyone attending the Governors’ Dinner at the White House on February 26th that he has big plans to rebuild our military.
He explained that by rebuilding he means upping shipbuilding, increases in military aircraft, as well as creating larger troop sizes. He has big plans to increase our defense spending by 10% to create a $54 billion allowance.
While it doesn’t come as a surprise that 60% of United States military personnel are under the impression that Obama’s decreases in military personnel in addition to his withdrawal of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, AND his “lack of focus” created a less safe America. President Trump has big plans to change all of that.
President Trump is a man who truly loves the United States and respects our men and women in our armed forces. He is willing and ready to show our military respect like they haven’t seen during the entirety of Obama’s time in office. Recently, a class of Green Beret candidates visited the White House, and President Trump made it a point to show them the respect they so deserve.
The Conservative Tribune reported that the 18 Army officers in the Special Forces Qualification Course (AKA: Q-course) paid a visit to the National Security Council. The Deputy Assistant to the President, Sebastian Gorka, made a suggestion that would change all of their lives. He wanted them to meet President Trump himself.
Gorka stated, “Halfway through the discussion, (Trump) said, ‘Hey — we’re not supposed to do this but follow me,’ and he brought them all into the Oval Office, took a group photograph around the Resolute desk, and then — throwing the schedules into a bit of a tizzy, said, ‘OK, that’s not good enough.”
We have seen many photos of President Trump meeting all different kinds of military personnel in the Oval Office. This was different, however. President Trump was truly honored to meet such fine Americans. This was the very first time in the course’s history that the Green Beret candidates entered the Oval Office. Former President Barack Obama never allowed such a thing to happen.
Gorka went on to explain, “He said, ‘everybody stand in the corner.’ They all stood in the corner, and one-by-one we took photographs they can take home to their family with each future Green Beret next to the president at the Oval Office desk.”
The really amazing thing about this story is that President Trump didn’t make it about media coverage. The February 7th meeting was kept completely private. Not a single photo was released, and not surprisingly the media didn’t cover the event at all, even after though news of it leaked the day before it occurred. They didn’t want to give Trump a chance to look like the good guy he really is.
While making some comments at the 2017 Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday, Gorka decided to bring up the meeting stating, “That’s how much he loves our soldiers- our warriors.” He went on to explain that under former President Barack Obama, they “wouldn’t have even gotten into the West Wing.”
President Trump has made it very clear that America is being restored back to the great nation it was always meant to be. This country isn’t being run by Obama anymore, and it’s starting to show. The newfound respect for our military and the morale of our men and women fighting for our country is worlds different than it was under former President Barack Obama. Finally, some respect for our troops. Thank you, Mr. Trump!
