There was a tragedy of epic proportions last night. It has shaken this country to its core. The violence that we saw has been totally unmatched in recent times.
This is something that we are going to have to work on as a national and as a family. In the aftermath of one of the deadliest mass shootings that the United States has ever seen, President Trump talked about what went on. He gave his thoughts on the subject.
“It was an act of pure evil,” Trump explained.
“I want to thank the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and all of the first responders for their courageous efforts,” Trump said, thanking them “for helping to save the lives of so many” and for quickly finding the shooter. “The speed with which they acted is miraculous and prevented further loss of life.”
“I know we are searching for some kind of meaning in the chaos, some kind of light in the darkness,” Trump said during his short speech. “The answers do not come easy.”
That is where CNN comes in. They asked Jeff Zeleny to do a quick recap of the speech. It is then when he, for some unknown and pointless reason, tells viewers that these were obviously Trump supports. He says this as if it matters in some way.
At first, Zeleny calls the speech pitch perfect, but explains that many of these people were Trump supporters themselves.
“Something else, I think, to keep in mind–a lot of these country music supporters are likely Trump supporters,” Zeleny said. “This is something, of course, hitting the tapestry of all Americans and there are going to be victims from across the country here.”
During a time like this, it is never a good thing to use divisive language like this. This is supposed to be a time when we can come together as a country to help as many people as possible. That is why there really is no excuse for what he said. Th political orientation of the dead have to impact on anything. It is sad to see someone thing the opposite.
